FAQs
How much heat does it provide?
The Optic 50 uses a 1,500W heater (about 5,115 BTU) for supplemental warmth. It’s designed to add comfort and ambiance—not to replace a primary heating system. You can also run flames without heat. See the manual.
Does it need venting or a gas line?
No. It’s fully electric, so there’s no venting, chimney, or gas line required. Provide a proper 120V circuit and follow placement and airflow rules in the manual.
Plug-in or hardwire?
Both are supported. The unit comes ready for a grounded 120V/15A outlet and may be hardwired by a qualified electrician on a dedicated 15A circuit. Follow the electrical section in the manual.
What room size will it heat?
The manufacturer does not publish a square-foot rating. As a rule of thumb, plan ~20–25 BTU per sq ft; 1,500W (~5,115 BTU) is best as supplemental heat. For usage guidance, see the manual.
Can I mount a TV above it?
Often yes, with proper separation and airflow. Do not block the heater outlet. Use a mantel/recess if needed. Refer to placement/finishing rules in the Specs tab and the latest manual.
Is it EPA-certified?
Not applicable—EPA certification applies to solid-fuel wood/gas heaters. This is an electric fireplace. For safety listings and electrical requirements, see the manual.
Do I need an Outside Air Kit?
No. OAKs are for combustion appliances. This electric fireplace does not burn fuel and does not require outside air. Confirm placement and ventilation guidelines in the manual.
Is a blower available?
The heater includes an integrated fan to distribute warm air. A separate blower accessory is not required. For operating behavior (fan run-on, modes), see the manual.
What’s the warranty and return policy?
See our Warranty and Returns & Exchanges pages for coverage, eligibility, and steps.
